The Position – The congregation of Loudon Avenue Christian Church (“LACC”) seeks a full-time theologically trained dynamic Senior Pastor who is spiritually grounded and has proven success leading an active urban congregation. The successful candidate must be excited about working for the Lord, have the vision and ability to embrace the extraordinary culture at LACC where individuals from all walks of life are welcome. The LACC congregation expects to install a visionary Senior Pastor with strong leadership skills, who delivers biblically based and spirit-filled sermons, teaches sound doctrine, provides pastoral care, who has experience working with and growing youth leaders and congregants, and directs Christian growth and development, while promoting missions and the Commission for expanding the Kingdom of God. The Senior Pastor will continue to spread God’s word beyond the walls of the church and positively navigate the multiple demands of preacher, teacher, executive administrator and manage the day-to-day church operations. The successful candidate will engage with the community in a variety of ways and work to expand existing ministries. Experience as a pastor (senior, associate, or regional) in a church of at least 100 active congregants is preferred.
Required Qualifications/Licensure
Hold an earned Master of Divinity (“M.Div.”) degree from an accredited theological institution (“ATI”) or be currently enrolled and in good standing in a M.Div. program at an ATI. If degree is in progress, applicant must (1) submit proof of enrollment in an M.Div. program with his/her application; and (2) agree, as a condition of employment with LACC, to execute an agreement to complete their M.Div. degree from an ATI within three (3) years of employment with LACC.- Certification, experience, and/or training in pastoral care and/or clinical counseling.
- Hold or must be willing to pursue within one year of appointment “Standing in Christian Church, Disciples of Christ”.
- Pastoral Experience (minimum 3 consecutive years) in a church of at least 100 active congregants is preferred.
- Pastoral Experience in Administration, Supervisory, and Management, Finance Management and Budget, Basic Technology Skills (e.g., email, Word), experience using remote platforms (e.g., Zoom, Teams, etc.), familiarity with social media platforms (e.g., YouTube, Facebook, etc.), and leadership development of spiritual leaders (e.g., ministers, elders, and deacons).
- Demonstrated involvement in the community
NOTE: Salary and benefits for the successful candidate will be regionally competitive and will be determined upon proven experience, qualifications and meeting the published criteria.

- Three (3) letters of recommendation
- Copy of Ministerial License(s), Certificate of ordination
- Copy of Transcripts1 for all Post-Secondary and Advanced Degrees
- Only applicable if currently enrolled in a Master of Divinity program at an accredited theological institution:
- Applicant must submit with the application proof of enrollment and proof of good standing from your accredited theological institution. Failure to attach proof of enrollment and/or proof of good standing will result in an incomplete application and the application will not be considered by the Pulpit Succession Committee.
- Electronic copies or links to two (2) video recorded sermons given in the last two (2) years (e.g. YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, MP4, or any other share file link)
*Candidates who have submitted a Ministerial Profile, Disclosure and Release forms, References and Criminal Background Check documents to the General Commission on Ministry in the Disciples of Christ Church within 12 months of their application to LACC may submit their Profile directly to the Pulpit Succession Committee in lieu of completing the full online application. If applicable, a candidate must forward their completed Profile to the Pulpit Succession Committee via email (laccpsc@gmail.com) to receive an abbreviated application. Abbreviated applications must be completed and submitted to the Pulpit Succession Committee no later than June 1, 2026. Failure to complete an abbreviated application will result in an incomplete submission.
NOTE: The Pulpit Succession Committee requires that all candidates who meet the Required Qualifications/Licensure and Submission Requirements, and who may be considered for the Senior Pastor position to submit to a background check. The Committee may request the candidate to provide additional information for purposes of conducting the background check (e.g., SSN, etc.).

Letters of recommendation, transcripts, and all other required Submission Requirements materials must be submitted online and received by the Pulpit Succession Committee not later than June 1, 2026.
